As you heard or read the story it is funny but in the same time it is also sad. The funny part in the story is how the four hunchback’s died and how they are disposed and the sad part is the both hunchback and his wife who lived in the mansion, first the hunchback has his greedy desire to keep away the wife from other people and the second is the loneliness of the wife.
The problems of the story started because of money, connections and jealousy of the hunchback to result loneliness of the wife, if the wife wasn’t lonely her husband and the minstrels will not die, and she will not hide the three hunchbacks to his husband. But for me what the wife does in the end of the story which she hired a man to throw the dead bodies of the three hunchbacks but tricking the payment for the man and that makes the man hot-headed that makes him ferocious to his surrounding and that’s when the husband is in the way to go home and then he tasted the ferocity of the man and when the husband reach the mansion he died if it’s a normal wife which is loving and caring you would expect it to cry but this wife for me feels freedom and instead of giving proper bury for the husband she also hired the man to throw the dead body of the husband. Now we see the effect of not giving freedom to someone which will cause to have no feelings toward the person and being tricky to everyone.
