Diabetes is a medical condition where there is too much sugar circulating in the bloodstream due to complete absence or insufficient insulin in the body (Matthews el at., 2008). The medical name is diabetes mellitus, which is divided into three different types. In Type 1 Diabetes (insulin dependent), which is commonly known to occur during early childhood and adolescence, the pancreas completely stops producing any insulin, a hormone made by beta cells in the pancreas. People with type 1 diabetes must take an insulin injection every day. Whereas, in type 2 Diabetes (non-insulin dependent), there is some insulin in the body, although not adequate enough for its needs. Also, in this type the body is unable to use insulin properly. This condition is commonly known as insulin resistance and usually occurs in people who are over 40 years of age.
