a) Hercules was the son of the most powerful God Zeus and a beautiful Greek women by the name of Alcmene. The name Hercules means “Glorious Gift of Hera” in Greek. This made Hera, Zeus’s wife, angry and in return she tried to kill Hercules by placing snakes in his crib. Hercules was a strong baby and managed to strangle the snakes before one could bite him. Hela held a grudge against Zeus for his infidelities and decided to ruin Hercules’s life by sending a fit of madness to Hercules that caused him to kill his wife Megara and their children. After he realizes what he had done, Hercules visited Apollo so that he can rid him of his evilness. Apollo forces Hercules to do 12 labours as part of punishment for what he had done. Apollo later declares that Hercules must go to the city of Titans to serve the king Eurystheus for twelve years. In return, Hercules would become immortal and instead of going to the underworld of Hades, he would become a god. The first labour was dubbed “The Nemean Lion” and required Hercules to bring Eurystheus the skin of a lion that had been causing trouble near Nemea. Humans are required to complete various tasks on a daily basis. Advancements in Technology, Medicine and even Government can be considered as categories for the greatest human tasks. In my opinion, I believe humans greatest tasks in the next ten years have to do with the development of all three of these categories. Advancements in technology will be part of our greatest tasks because the innovation will progress us and our steps towards an efficient and effortless life closer than ever. The technologies we have available today have made our lives much more comfortable than in the past. It has made it easier for us to complete tasks and continues to expand our skills and education. Advancements in in the medical field are crucial to maintain a happy and healthy life. These advancements over the years have allowed for humans to live a more prosperous life without illnesses that used to kill people by the hundreds.
