The organizations listed above carry the message of salvation by works. For instance, Islam does not have the “Good News” and teaches that salvation involves doing good and hoping Allah will grant you salvation. This can be seen with this statement from C.R.A.M. (Christian Apologetics and Research Ministry) “There is no good news in Islam. Salvation consists of doing good and hoping that Allah will grant the Muslim salvation. It is work righteousness.” Also, Mormon teach that you must strive for perfection which will result in one day becoming a god and that you are saved by grace after all you can do. C.R.A.M. states this about Mormon teachings “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints teaches its members are to strive to be perfect. This perfection, hopefully, results in exaltation in—becoming a god.” These teachings are wrong, Ephesians 2:8 clearly says: “For by grace you have been saved through faith; not of yourselves, it is a gift of God.” It …show more content…
is not our good works that saves us, but God in His grace grants us salvation through faith.
Also, these teachings deny the deity of Christ and give skewed messages about Him.
For example, Jehovah witnesses teach that Christ is not equal since He was the first creation and is not to be worshiped. This can be seen with this statement from the official website of Jehovah Witnesses showing their beliefs “We follow the teachings of Jesus Christ and honor him as our savior and as the son of God. Thus we as Christians. However, we have learned from the Bible that Jesus is not the almighty God and that there is no basis for the Trinity doctrine.” This can also be seen with this statement given by Truth
Magazine:
“The apostle John wrote, “in the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God.” In commenting on the verse the witnesses state that “the word was a powerful godlike one” (a truth that leads to eternal life(pg.24), but deny that He was God. They teach that Jesus is a created being, not having the same deity as God the Father.”
This is also wrong as passages such as Matthew 28:16-20 display the trinity giving the commandment to baptize in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and states all authority is given to Christ as well.
We are not saved by our works as Islam, Jehovah Witnesses, and Mormons teach. It is by grace and faith alone that people are saved as Ephesians 2:8 states. Also, Jesus Christ is equal with God with all authority and is a part of the Trinity of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as Mathew 28:16-20 clearly shows.
