There are a number of family types in society. Firstly, traditional family is defined as a family group consisting of two married couple as father, mother who live together in the same house and take care of more than one or two children. In the traditional family, each member contributes in the household responsibilities to ensure family well-being. For instance, father is the head of family. He is a breadwinner who provides finance to support family and he also has the power to order members of the family to do everything. Mother’s roles differ from father’s roles. She is a housekeeper and does not work to earn money and often teaching children different household techniques such as planning the meal, cooking and cleaning. Children in traditional families have been taught to obey parents and respect their elders. Furthermore, older girls help mother in household chore and look after younger siblings. However, there are some differences of the roles of family members in modern countries compared with the traditional family.
