Family festivals
Every country in the world has its own festivals and celebrations. People all around the world love joining together and sharing good time through the celebrations. Festivals are great way to experience local culture. There are hundreds of festivals across the world and Lithuania has its own particular one’s. My family like everybody has the favorites.
Firstly, my family loves religious festivals like Christmas or Easter. It is so important because all traditions are related to it. Also all family members make an effort to come home for these festivals, even from a distance. Religious festivals draw the family members closer. Eating together and sharing with others is the most important thing. However my relatives also pay special attention to personal festivals. Life moves quickly and we have to celebrate the day of the birth. For that day the person who celebrates the birthday invites all his friends and closest relatives. The whole family are cleaning the house and making the food for the party. Then everybody gathers in a joyous mood you could smell the party in the air, there are hot dogs and hamburgers cooking on the grill. Person who celebrates the party receive many letters of greetings and presents from friends and relatives. We eat cake and sharing a good time together with closest people in the world. The birthday observance is a great thing in a man's life. Though he is quite merry over it, he should be seriously thoughtful to know about the year going out and the year to come. I too, on my birthday, think what I have done in the outgoing year and what I shall do in the next.
Secondly, one of the most important festivals in our family is St. John’s Day. It is so special because it is my mother’s name-day. We burn bonfires and sit outside the whole night till dawn. The feast of St. John is the most joyful and popular summer festival. That day marks the year’s shortest night. People say that fern blooms on that night and young couples go to

Maybe he simply doesn’t like celebrating something as frivolous as a birthday. Personally, I concur with Mr. Gray’s statement, I too, hate birthdays. Even though the vast majority of the population enjoy their birthday and most likely consider it their favorite holiday, birthdays do not appeal to me however because of, my past natal day experiences, the annoyance of the annual overhyped celebrations, and my fear of being disappointed again.…

Objective: The main goal of this lab is to learn how separation of binary liquid mixtures is performed. Especially when the two liquids have boiling points varying by about 30° C. Hexane can be separated from toluene in this experiment because of the difference in their boiling points. Since toluene has a higher boiling point, it will left at the bottom while the hexane starts to boil out and collect in the Hickman still. GC measurements help us in determining how accurate our data is by making a graph of the amount of hexane and toluene in each fraction. Also this lab gives experience with semi-micro distillation in order for experiments in the future that might need this purification setup.…
