Children need to learn about how to operate ATMs, cell phones, ringtones, cubicles, and anything electronic. Virginia also seems concerned that the host on the show, “Blue’s Room” to be a little bit creepy for having a male adult in a children’s show. Who really cares if it’s a male or female adult? How can this guy be creepy when he’s just trying to make it fun for the intended audience? I just don’t see how this makes for a good argument about how “creepy” the host is. I’m sure the producers didn’t make it their first intent to make the host creepy for kids. Another warrant she mentions is how it’s inappropriate for the show’s first episode shows how to milk a cow, displaying udders and all. I think it’s acceptable to show how it’s done with milking a cow. It’s part of the farm life and people will come up with any excuse to show that things are inappropriate or offensive for children when it’s just a way of …show more content…
I, however, have one for this article. I understand where she is coming from that she doesn’t think we need our children in this day and age to be taught the farm life because we are moving up in the world of technology. She thinks it’s a waste of time because the agribusiness is not booming like back in the day when we have technology that does everything for us. I say she is wrong because we still buy produce, plants, milk, eggs, and anything that’s found on a farm in the supermarket still to this day. It’s best to teach our children where the things we eat come from. Maybe one day they will want to contribute to the farm life or just want to know how to make their own produce plants and have farm animals. The farm life might just be a thing of the past in a world of technology, but we still need to eat and where else do we get our food from. Virginia does mention at the end of her article and I quote, “Brave new world. And we’re still teaching our children about milking cows?” I think it’s a little absurd that yes it is a brand new world from when we did live off of farms back in the day, but we still need farms to eat and survive. I don’t see a thing wrong with teaching kids how to milk a cow. It’s the main source of where we get milk. Children don’t understand the full details how it’s made but they should know the basic knowledge of where it comes from. Why should we fault children of
