‘‘Fast Food Nation’’ is a book written by Eric Schlosser, it was originally published in New York by Houghton Mifflin on January 17, 2001. The book has 288 pages.
This book is about how the fast food industry came to be and about the dark side of the industry that they wouldn’t want you to know. In one point of the book Schlosser talks about how towns like Greeley, Colorado are affected by the industry and tells about how once you enter the town it gives off a foul smell of a mixture of manure, live animals, and dead animals being processed into dog food. Greeley is a modern day factory town that produces meat and ships it to fast food restaurants and supermarkets. Which is all good,
besides the fact that it creates things like pools of slaughterhouse waste. Another thing that is brought out in the book is what’s in the meat that is being served to us. This is a big deal, because wouldn't you want to know what is being fed to you and your family. Fast food restraunts always adertise there food as fresh and 100% of what the food is supposed to be, but that’s not always the case. The food is usually pre cooked and frozen to stay “fresh” and when it is ready to be served they just heat it up and put it together. The thing is the meat may not always be good, but as long as you pay for it they will serve it to you, and they most likely wont care if you get sick unless they are sued or unless a whole bunch of people get sick and their meat gets recalled.
