Religion was also an important aspect during this time. The painting by Paolo Veronese is a perfect example as to how they portrayed their religion. It is evident that Paolo was emphasizing Jesus in the middle of painting by using different shades and tones of color. He was able to make the individuals connect in way that made the viewer be intrigued into the center to look at Jesus sitting there with some light behind his head to make him stand out even more. I really liked that about this painting because Paolo was able to make the artwork very interesting even though there was a lot going on with all the individuals that were added. Duncanson. This artwork was painted in in the year 1851 and it was made with oil on the 29 ¼” X 42 ¼” canvas. It can be found Cincinnati Art Museum where it is displayed to show it's beautiful scenery. I chose this painting because it is absolutely stunning. Duncanson was an African American artist who became really successful with this artwork. This wonderful painting is from the Romanticism period in which the artists emphasize grace and Duncanson is a perfect example of showing the grace of the river. He used a great technique in which he altered the color, light, and shade to create realism with the river and trees. It is a very soft painting, it almost seems like a photograph though due to Robert’s ability to make the painting look so real.
This painting became really famous because not only is the painting beautiful but it was done by an African American artists. Robert was one of the first to be recognized internationally. Once I layer my eyes on this painting, I noticed Robert’s talent to make the painting seem so peaceful. It's probably one of my favorite artworks. This artwork emphasizes how Romantic artists celebrate nature and their surroundings which is another reason why I like it so
