Also, the book talks about the threats to Title IX and then how women finally stood up for themselves. Finally, it ends with a timeline from 1848-2003.

This paper starts off by describing the struggles women went through prior to the Title IX amendment.
A fact that stood out to me was that women who participated in physical activity were not only deemed unattractive, but defined as lesbians. Worst of all, a woman’s parents would not show up to watch or support her playing because she was a girl. After providing helpful information the article provides stories of female athletes, and an insight into what they went through in order to play the sport they loved. Finally, the article closes with statistical data, and explains how people are trying to limit the effects of Title IX.

This article on the rules of sports explains what defines a sport, and what the worlds first sport was. I learned that there is no definite first sport because running and wrestling can both hold that title, even though there is more evidence suggesting wrestling as the first sport. This source provided information about when the first sport was played.
