In chapter 14, Ferriss is talking about Mini-Retirements. He is convinced that going on mini-vacations every few months will benefit everyone. Dogmatism is a fallacy that makes the author sound like they know everything, and they are better than everyone. Using dogmatism is never a good idea. In his book, Ferriss uses dogmatism in many places. To begin with, “Doing something unimportant well does not make it important”( Ferriss 70). This quote from section two of the book is comparing the difference between being effective and efficient. The statement above makes Ferriss sound very arrogant. Some jobs like a garbage man is unimportant to some people. But in other cases it it very important. It becomes important when you have a overflow of garbage in your house, and you have no one to pick it up. This is an example to prove Ferriss’ statement wrong.
