Outstanding leaders are often those who display distinguishing charactoristics of true statesmanship. They are not people who are arrogant enough to believe that they know everything about any one subject but instead, are humble and studious. Great leaders set clear cut and realistic goals. They are the kind of people who can see the big picture and scope out a path to get there, never waivering, with great confidence, they lead the way. They are not always the charming type but instead have a way about them of convincing others to join them or to understand their philosophy of the given situation. Martin Luther King Jr. was blessed with amazing talents, one of them being great leadership skills. Leadership simply came naturally to him. It would have been wise for Napoleon and Squealer, those deceiving pigs from Animal Farm, to take notes about leadership and integrity from Dr. King. Dr. King's leadership and perseverance played a major role in helping the black people acquire the equality they so rightfully deserved. Unlike the pigs of Animal Farm, Martin Luther King Jr. embodies the characteristics of a strong leader because he does tremendous job demonstrating integrity, respect, and collaborativeness.…
There are many different characteristics that make a person a true leader. Odysseus is a fictional character from a fantasy epic poem known as “The Odyssey.” He traveled on a twenty year journey with many men along with him but in the end all of his men perished; Odysseus can be classified as a leader and a hero along with a man named Ernest Shackleton. Shackleton is a real life man who went on an expedition to reach Antarctica in the years 1914 to 1916. He also had a whole crew with him for the journey and he saved all of them. When comparing leadership of these two men the three most important traits to take into consideration are confidence, balance between tasks and interpersonal relationships, and the ability to stay on track.…
Leaders are everywhere in our world. They constantly surround us and tell us what to do. Leaders have shaped our history and are constantly shaping our future. Some excellent examples of good leaders are Adolf Hitler and Julius Caesar. We might not agree with some of the policies that Hitler performed, however, we can conclude that his excellent leadership skills allowed him to effectively govern about 69 million citizens. Caesar’s quick and decisive personality granted Caesar the title, Dictator, of the Roman Empire. Under Caesar’s rule, the Roman Empire vastly expanded its borders through military annexations. But, with all things foretold, what designates someone the power to lead people? There are several factors that bring about a good leader. The three main factors incorporate communication, confidence, and commitment. Anybody that decides to encompass these factors, will not only be a good leader, but they will also be an effective and a revolutionary leader.…

Looking back at the history of Cuba, there was a time when the country was quite prosperous. This was before Fidel Castro came into power. During the Batista government regime, Cuba had a strong economy and exported many goods. However, Castro started a rebellion and fought against the Batista and soon took over. His financial support of Alicia Alonso and her company, helped to foster an environment for people to learn about and build an appreciation for ballet and its contributions.…
Cuba, as the largest and most important island of the West Indies, is a country with a colorful and eventful history. Ruled by Spain until the twentieth century, control of Cuba eventually passed to General Fulgencio Batista and his regime, which was able to maintain control over the volatile Cuban people only through constant military aid supplied by the United States. The United States supported the Batista regime only because Batista was a staunch abominator of Communism, which we feared above all other things, especially since…

He also made a difference by motivating the crew of Apollo 11 to be the first people to reach the moon. George Washington made an impact on history by leading the American militia against the British forces. He had the immense courage required to end the war with the most destructive power in the world at that time, the atomic bomb. Another leader with courage is Lyndon Johnson. Johnson had the courage to push for the civil rights of all Americans. This gave much negative feedback, but he still worked nevertheless. Even leaders who are looked on as evil still have courage, such as Adolf Hitler. He had the…
