What’s one of the biggest fads of the year, and maybe the most addicting ones ever? The answer is the fidget spinner! These small propeller shaped objects are enjoyed by many children around the nation, or are they? The fun toy called the fidget spinner has caused a numerous amount of issues where they are not needed! Fidget spinners should be excised from schools and home for many reasons such as they are a major distractions to others, they can become harmful, and one could take advantage of the item and turn it into a toy.
Fidget spinners are known to disturb others in all sorts of ways. First of all, every spinner makes a loud and annoying whirring sound, and when many of them are spinning the sound becomes even louder! Kids also can become mesmerized by looking at the spinner go round and round. When this happens their teacher will lose the children’s attention entirely, which could be hard to get back. In addition students could start to argue over whose turn it is to have the fidget spinner.
There are many ways that the spinner is harmful, but one of the most detrimental ones would be swallowing the small wheel shaped piece in the spinner. Furthermore, this could cause kids to start gasping for air while they are choking. Not only are they a choking hazard, but they could lead to chipped teeth if a child bites into one. Also if kids get hit with one they could receive a minor, but still painful, injury. These injuries could consist of a bloody nose, a bruise, or a small cut.
