One way dangerous censorship is displayed is through the setting of the book. This book is set in a dystopian society where all books are banned. Knowledge is power and this society doesn't want unequal amounts of power. Books are knowledge, so since they don't want knowledge
or power they must get rid of all books. The people in the book are allowed to own books, but they may never read them, because they might gain knowledge. In this book the people are also not allowed to walk or be pedestrians, because they could get run over.
Another way that dangerous censorship is shown in this book is through figurative language. ¨With the brass nozzle in his fists, with this great python spitting its venomous kerosene upon the world, the blood pounded in his head, and his hands were the hands of some amazing conductor playing all the symphonies of blazing and burning to bring down the tatters and charcoal ruins of history.¨ This quote shows that Montag is unaware of the dangers of burning books, this is dangerous because if you burn books you are burning knowledge. In a way the society wants people to burn the books and the knowledge because that means they are burning power. The society wants everyone to have an equal amount of power.
In the last analysis dangerous censorship is also demonstrated through plot. ¨It was a pleasure to burn.¨ This quote from the book shows that the firefighters enjoy burning books. This displays that the firefighters and everyone else in this society don't realize the importance of knowledge. The firefighters don't recognize the importance of knowledge because they aren't allowed to read. Another example of plot is when Clarisse says "Is it true that long ago firemen put fires out instead of going to start them?" I think that this represents Clarisse wondering what the past was like because she thinks things were different and could be different now.
