Most important, my group and I decided that the majority of our movie scene should be silent because we wanted to audience to focus on what is on the screen and the movements and actions of the actors. For example, the one scene where Faith drove Jackie to her home, the volume for this particular scene was turned down because we wanted the audience to focus on the surrounding of the houses, Jackie’s new home. Another detail we used was the music choices. During happy scenes, for example during the bonding scenes when Faith was showing Jackie around the school, happy and cheerful music was playing the the background. Whereas, during the unhappy scenes, for example, when Jackie gets kicked out of the foster home, sad background music was being played. For the characters, the characters’ actions were important in the movie. We wanted a strong characterization for each characters to help the audience understand our movie. Thus, we decided to portray our characters indirectly by their actions, as when an author shows what a character is like by portraying their actions. Most importantly we used the characters’ action to reveal her personality. For example, the audience can infer that Faith is a caring and compassionate. This can be seen when she is willing to help out Faith, a complete stranger who needs help. Faith in the other hand, can be seen as a quiet girl that is courageous and enthusiastic who does not let the negative things in her life stop her from accomplishing her goals. Furthermore, Simone can be seen as a friendly and generous friend who is there for Jackie during her hard times. Lastly, Heather on the other hand is ignorant through her actions of making Jackie the center of a laughing
