Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is an adventure, fantasy, and a family film. This movie is about standing up for what you believe in, even if others think you were wrong. It is also about what can happen if you are not allowed to be your true self. It was released on November 18, 2016. The main character in the film is Newt Scamander, a British wizard played by Eddie Redmayne. The supporting characters are Jacob Kowalski (Dan Folger), Tina Goldstein (Katherine Waterston), and Queenie Goldstein (Alison Sudol). Tina, and Queenie are American wizards while Jacob is a no-maj which is a person who doesn’t have magic. This film contains so much excitement, laughter, adventure, and even a little romance. Newt who makes a stop in New York on his way to release the Thunderbird. While he is there some of his creatures escape from his magical suitcase. This leads to the discovery of an Obscure. An Obscure is a dark creature that is created when a magical child is not allowed to practice magic. The magic builds up within the child and is eventually released in a destructive form (Obscure). Newt must work together with American wizards and a no-maj to round up his beasts and save New York from the Obscure. He forms an unlikely friendship with the no-maj. Newt is a Magizoologist which is a person who takes care of magical beasts. Jacob is a canning factory opener who wants to be a baker. Tina and Queenie are Macusa wand permit officials. I thought this film was Fantastic. It was full of adorable, imaginative creatures, it had amazing acting, and the special effects were incredible. Newt Scamander is an interesting character who never fails to surprise you. The creatures looked very realistic and made me wish I had my own. My favorite creature was the Demiguise which was the monkey like creature. It did a great job bringing the wizarding world to America. Overall I thought this was an amazing film. It is definitely a film you will never forget. I would recommend this movie to families.
