Finding the FGL FFL and Natural Ground
Finding the FGL, FFL and the Natural Ground Level

1. Find out the FGL and FFL First.

2. To find the FGL, need to find the highest RL and the lowest RL that the house is located on the property.

So, the find the FGL:

- Highest RL is 12.50; Lowest RL is 10.0.

- 12.50 – 10.0 = 2.50.

This means that there is a fall from the highest part of the house to the lowest part of the house of 2500mm or 2.5 metres.

- 2.50 / 2 = 1.25 (Cut and Fill)

3. So, FGL is:

- 12.50 – 1.25 = 11.25

4. FFL is:

11.25 + 0.3 (thickness of slab) = 11.55

5. To calculate Natural Ground Line:

Rule: If the result is positive then the NGL is below the FGL line, and if is a negative result, then the NGL is above the FGL.

FGL – RL

11.25 – 12.50 = -1.25

This means for the highest part of the house, the natural ground line is above the FGL point by 1250mmm.

For the lowest part of the house,

11.25 – 10.0 = 1.25

This means that the lowest part of the house, the natural ground line is below the FGL point by 1250mm.

During last week’s research, three testable outcomes were identified: the value will increase if the home is closer to the city, the value will decrease if the home is closer to the city, or there is no direct correlation. Team B hypothesizes that if a property is closer to the city, the value will be higher. It has been determined that the median, mean, minimum, and maximum values should be assessed and examined to determine if this hypothesis is accurate. Team B will be using the mean home prices in group one and two to determine if there is a significant difference in home prices for homes less than 15 miles from the city compared to those equal to or greater than 15 miles from the center of the city. Based on the possible testable outcomes, Team B will use the Null Hypothesis and Alternate hypothesis with the mean prices in group one denoted as µH1 and mean home prices in group two denoted as µH2.…

Guilt. “A cognitive or emotional experience that occurs when a person believes that they have violated a moral standard and bears significant responsibility for that violation.” Guilt is portrayed a great deal in Lasse Hallström’s What’s Eating Gilbert Grape (1993). Guilt is depicted within the film through Gilbert as he is indecisive between leaving and staying, it is depicted through Bonnie as she believes that she is an incompetent wife and parent, and through Betty Carver, who holds herself responsible for the death of her husband. What’s Eating Gilbert Grape follows the trapped and tedious life of Gilbert Grape (Johnny Depp), through his struggles with responsibility when caring and providing for his family and mentally disabled brother…

deep, thus according to the table 7.2 for unstable soil, the choice is either 4’ or 2’ for the uprights horizontal spacing (uprights may be a solid “sheeting” or spaced from 2’ to 8’ apart to prevent cave-ins), as well as cross braces is either 4’ or 2’ for screw jacks of 2” STD or timbers of (6” x 6”) to hold either horizontal or vertical shoring members in place. Refer to the side table 7.1 and assume the width between (6”-8”) for house line, since it was not reported in the result investigation. However, the minimum number of the horizontal cross braces, either screw jacks or timbers, required for each pair of uprights shall be determined by the number of 4-foot zones or segment into which the depth of the trench may be divided, yet in no case shall be less than two cross braces or jacks. Further, pre planning will reduce the chance of an accident and protect people nearby work site and maintenance operator from falling into the excavation, and it will protect them from possible exposure of atmospheric hazards in the excavation as well (such as leaking gas lines or storage tanks) and define how maintenance operator will get in and out of the excavation safely. An excavation with a depth of 4 ft. or more must have a means for entering and exiting such as a stairway, ladder, or ramp that has a non-slip surfaces employees’ safety may depend on how…
