Our heritage is what makes us stand out from the rest and it is important to keep them going. In a blog called MCCARTYHERITAGE, the author gives some outstanding examples of why we should preserve our heritage and examples of civilizations that did. He gives examples of olden day Jewish what had to copy records letter by letter and also of scriptures like the bible (). He also explains that it severs as a cornerstone of the type of person you become. This story did a fantastic job at explaining the different types of people that pass on family traditions, those that actively continue them and those that just have the knowledge of their family’s traditions. Those that actively continue them have a higher chance of passing them on. A great way of passing on heritage is through poetry, and that is exactly what Linda Hogan did in her poem “Heritage”.
