Fitting In High School
Why fit in when you can stand out? Fitting in isn't unique, it's blending in with everyone around you. When you fit in you are like a blank page in the showing world. You want you and your animal to look professional and to look like a bright yet dark color on the blank page.
One day at school in fourth grade my teacher passed a yellow piece of paper out to everyone in the class. It was a 4H paper, I filled it out and tried to persuade my mom into letting me join. For two years I tried to get in, but we didn't have time. My little brother and sister were too young. Finally we filled the paper out and sent it in. We got a letter in the mail about what club we were in and when the dates and times were. I was so happy and ready to see what it was like.
We were about a week away from my first meeting and I was freaking out but then I was also super happy. (Mixed Emotions) I asked everyone else in school who signed up. If they did, what club they were in and when their meeting was. I only knew one person who was in my club. We were really good friends. It was Sunday and we were heading to the meeting. My stomach felt like butterflies and I had no idea what was going to happen or what it was going to be like. We pulled in the parking lot and walked into the building in Bloomville. There were so many people in there and I only knew a few. I was so

This is probably the most stressful part of the year. We try to make the least amount of trips to the fair as possible but it's usually about five-six trips. This year and every year we have to put as many cages in the back of the truck as possible which is hard to arrange them all. After we have that all situated we have to catch all the birds, clean them and check them all to make sure that bird was the best bird to take. After we get all the birds, sheep, and rabbits there, and their pens are all set up we can't wait to get home, and take a late night swim in the

At exactly 6pm the bell was rung which signaled to everyone that dinner was now ready. We all piled in to eat an assortment of chicken, rice, vegetables, and salad. After dinner a bunch of the girls, including myself, sat on the dock letting our feet dangle down by the water and sharing stories trying to get to know one another better. I was surprised to find that a lot of us actually had a lot more in common, other than being in the honors program, then I would of imagined. Later on that night we all gathered around a camp fire enjoying our smore's and anticipating what the next day had in store for us.…

Fitting in is a feeling or sense of acceptance and security in relationship, society and the world. The sense of not fitting is can make an individual feel alienated. We see the impact and significance of fitting in and not fitting in on an individual in the book looking for Alibrandi written by Melina Marchetta published 1990. The book is about a stubborn, insecure and judgemental teenager who feels like she doesn’t fit in society because of her illegitimacy, ethnicity, status and family history. We can also see this from the poem Refugee Blues written by WH Auden and Neighbours by Tim Winston which both show perception off fitting in and not fitting because of ethnicity and status.…

The countless clubs I joined included: FFA, Key Club, Honor Society, and SADD. I began to really enjoy going to these club activities and I started to become more and more involved. Instead of being the shy girl that I was in middle school, I started to transform and become more and more outgoing over time. Eventually, I had the courage to try and become an officer for my FFA chapter. My sophomore year I became our chapter's reporter, and as time went on I…

Being part of the Environmental Club I made sure to do whatever I could to promote environmental safety, how we could reduce the consumption of electricity and water. Knowing that our earth our home is being depleted of its natural resources it worries me that our future generations will not have a peaceful and beautiful environment. We also participated in Relay for Life where we promoted cancer awareness. With the recycle club we also encouraged people to recycle and distributed recycling binds around the school to all the staff members. The yearbook club allowed me to get to know my school better I would interview sports teams and create pages for them in the yearbook. In the Diversity club I was the Vice-President and our members promoted diversity within our school to help our school’s staff and students learn more about people’s different cultures and backgrounds. This required me to listen to others to let them know that I cared about what they were saying and how they felt. With the National Honors Society, I was able to help out with the Greensboro Interactive Resource Center, providing help for the less fortunate.…

It was the craziest out of all of them. This was the year that we had a new girl come to school, her name was Kirsten. It was the fourth day of school and she was doing fine, then everyone started to hate her, and then would be really mean. She seemed to be cool, I don't know why people didn't like her. Me and my best friend were called into the office and asked to be friends with her, and tell them what the other people are doing her, like being mean or talking bad about her. The experience was the worst at first because if you're friends with her you were cool or talk to. That was hard for me because I have a lot of friends at St. Peters, and I didn't want to not be their friend, but now that I think about it they weren't real friends. So I made the choice to be friends with her and not listen to everyone…

Throughout majority of my high school life, I always questioned why things operated the way they did. Being forced to go to a place, or my parents could possibly go to jail. To be honest it sort of felt like a indoctrination. Going there I noticed everything was controlled and different social groups where created based on different peoples personalities. The irony of it all is that from a young age school seemed to indorse individuality, yet hypocritical policies such as school uniforms still took place later in the years.…

Life is hard enough and when you have to try to "fit in" the cliques of life, it makes life much harder. When you go to school you always have to worry about the way you look or how you walk or who your friends are in order to "fit in". If you don't have a model body or an "Abercrombie and Fitch" boyfriend/girlfriend you don't really fit in with the so called "norm".…
