It was the best team in California and they were projected to win the whole tournament. We were all so nervous and trying to focus. We ended up winning the game 5 to 4 with me hitting 2 homeruns. We were onto the championship game. It was view online by thousands of people and everybody was watching us. It was the most nervous I have even been for a game. A lot of people were watching us and everybody was trying to stay calm and act like nobody's watching. That calmed everybody down. It was the 7th inning and it was a tie game. We were up to bat against a pitcher that was throwing 80 miles per hour. Our lead off hitter got on base with a walk. The next hitter got hit by the pitch. He got a base hit and the bases were loaded with no outs. I was up to bat and I was very nervous and was thinking not to try too hard and try to get a hit. My coach called me over and said “ Don’t be nervous, it’s just like a normal at bat, you don’t need be overly anxious and try to be a hero.” That helped me out a lot, I was calm and was trying to do nothing special. I swing and miss at the first pitch. The second was a ball outside, it was a 1-1 count. The next pitch was a fastball right down the middle. I took my hardest swing I could and I hit the ball right on the …show more content…

It was a crisp spring day the birds were chirping and the bugs were buzzing and my brother and I, at the age of 10, were playing around in the backyard of our house. All we were doing was just playing around in the backyard having a fun time being normal children as always. Then I came up with this perfect idea to play hockey because since we all love hockey. So we wouldn't work garage I got a plastic baseball bat and my brother got a wooden baseball bat plus a whiffle ball.…

When the first game came I was extremely happy yet nervous also. We ended up winning the game by the score of three runs to two although I did not get to bat at all and was put in only for two innings of defense. I was disappointed that I did not get to play much but I was happy with the win. Our second game was the next day and I hoped to get more playing time then. When that day came it turned out that we were playing an extremely skilled team. We were losing three to one in the last inning and I still hadn’t played at all the whole game. One of my friends hit a double and then another one of my teammates hit a single to knock him in to score. The score was now three to two and we had a chance to come back. My coach then decided that we needed someone faster on the bases so he called for a…

I was mesmerized that I actually hit it, at first I just tried to swing and somehow I got a hit on it. Sadly, nobody on my team could bring me to home plate. So the inning is over as I see the number one change to a two. I was surprised that the coach did not put me on the field this inning. As I watch the…

As I hear those words that I most deeply despise come out her mouth, it quickly led me to think that this woman did not know what she was talking about. Before she had said these words we were talking about our favorite sports and she said hers was basketball and I told her mine was baseball. “Baseball is boring to watch,” she said. Hearing someone say this about my favorite sport that I have been playing throughout my life irritates me and it brings my attention to wonder why people find this sport boring. People similar to this woman, believe that baseball is a boring sport yet they do not realize that it is actually one of America’s most exciting sports!…

One sport that got my eye was baseball my senior. I love the feeling of having to be out on the on the field saying nothing but chewing gum or spitting out sunflower seeds. Having to make quick actions that can win or prevent the enemy from scoring. Having to go up to bat I always had a game face. If I took a swing and would miss I would close my eyes in failure to ashamed to look at my coach and team. However if I had got a base hit I would run not looking anywhere but to the base…

The team we were up against was the fierce, very talented number 2 in the state, the Rattlers. Recruiting players from all over the country to play on one team, they were a powerhouse no doubt. Josh back in the lineup after sitting out that last game and the hour break we had, he was all fueled up and ready to go. First inning comes up and they bat first putting up a enormous number of runs counting up to 10 in the first. We came back with a 2 run inning. shut them down in the second, and came back another 3 run inning cutting their lead in half. Slowly gaining momentum we knew what we came here to dude and that was to win this championship. Third inning rolls around and we shut them down for the second consecutive inning. We come to bat, three walks in a row and im due up with the bases loaded. Pitcher throwing close to 92 mph, look almost impossible to hit. first pitches goes by and my eyes widened that was the fastest thing i've ever seen right down the pipe for strike one. Next pitch same result. Third pitch i knew it was coming, i reached back threw my bat at the ball and hit a GRAND SLAM! Putting out team down just 1 run with 3 innings to…

My father, Coach Blake, told me to start the game off the right way and I did. The first pitch I hit deep in the outfield and got a triple. The team follow in them steps. The score of the game was our 8 to there 4. Then the team got cocky. That was a really bad idea through. We started to play horrible. We wasn’t getting on base nor playing good defense. The other team took over. Now the game was tied 8-8 and the game was coming to an end. It was our time to bat and we fail to score. It went three up three down. All we need was at least one person to hit and I would’ve hit again. All both Coach wanted was to get Torin and Me to hit. It fail to happen and now it was the other team turn to hit. The bases was load and they had two outs. One more out and we got another chance. Coach moved me from to catcher to pitcher and the pitcher to catcher. I throw the ball and the batter hit it down the third base line and they score. The game was over. We lose 9-8.…

It was the first day of summer workouts and we had just got done stretching, we were getting ready to go with our individual coaches. When we were trying to work on inside run game and we needed a full back. I was a pretty big running back and not as fast as some of the others so all of the other players were telling me to play full back. I got mad and didn’t like being told to go to full back so I said “No”. The other guys were saying “you’re way too slow to play running back” and “You have never even played running back why would you try now”, I just took it all in and didn’t say anything. I continued to play running back and try and prove them wrong.…

It finally got warm enough to go outside and I was ready to show my coaches that I had what it took to start for the London Red Raiders. They put me in left field because they knew I could catch very well. It didn’t start out too well for me the first couple of practices but once I got my throws down I felt like there was nothing that could stop me. I was fighting for a starting spot with a junior who did not deserve to be playing on a varsity field. I knew then that all I had to do was keep the mistakes to a minimum and the starting spot would be mine. I was right.…
