“The Rise of a Star” is a book about a young athlete making it to the NBA. The book is a biography on LeBron James. It tells about how rough LeBron’s life was before he started making money in the pros. It also tells how he kept himself out of trouble and came to love basketball, not many people come out of gang related cities successful. The book goes through his life beginning with his first travel ball team then to picking his High School, he chose St. Vincent, St. Mary’s a high school which had a very successful athletic team and that team had added the Fab Four of Akron. Willie Parker, Dru Joyce the third, Sian Cotton, and…
The movie was great because how they acted their roles were exceptional. Honestly, the roles given to them are really hard because they will handle all the emotional and physical challenges of their roles. You really need a good actors to be able to act it out, and so they did. It was so moving, since you are able to see hopeless people who as much as possible keep their selves positive and enthusiastic in life. It is directed by Penny Marshall, the film was produced by…
Medicine Game is a fascinating documentary film about lacrosse players, Jeremy and Hiana Thompson. The Thompson brothers are living in Upstate New York with their parents and siblings and belong to the Onondaga Nation. Since they were little, they have dream to play for the Syracuse University lacrosse team. This film in short is a documentation of their struggles to achieve their dreams. I, personally, really like the way Jeremy perceives lacrosse game. He says that they should respect the game, treat it good, and play it in order to make the Creator happy. It is more like ceremony; to happily play for the Creator, and praise Him through lacrosse. It is understandable when an athlete is very passionate about their own sports, but to put spirituality essence in it, I think not many athletes do.…
The things that impacted me about the movie are the fact that it is based on a true-life story. The filmmakers did a good job of being realistic in the fact that not everyone is going to support a mentally challenged individual all of the sudden being a part of a…
4. The best part about the movie, was when the team won the state championship, because it proved to all the other schools in the district that they were more than just a poor farming group. 5.…
This movie was pretty funny and had some slow moments as well. This movie shows us what it's like to work for a company that starts to have problems within. This movie shows us how people feel working for a company everyday and not enjoying your job. The main character talks about how working at Initech is the worst day of his life and that the next day is worker that the day before. It also shows us what can happen when you push an employee to the end. Initech brings in efficiency experts that hardly know what they are doing besides laying off people and promoting those who don't care about their jobs. The movies main focus is around Initech, but also shows us another company that needs to implement change, Chatskys. At first I thought what am I going to write about from this movie, but there is plenty of things that need change and adjustment from the bottom all the way up in this company.…
All in all, it was a great movie with great direction and acting. The storyline is great and makes it hard to stop watching. It keeps the audience glued to their seat to see what happens at the end of the movie. And, the ending is so appropriate for the movie. It was great writing and what an action drama should be like. The recommendation for this movie could not be higher. It is a true…

The exceptionally engaging film, Hoop Dreams goes deep into the life that surrounds basketball. To make it, a player has to be something more then just a good player. They need to be belligerent, well trained, surpass academically, and unaware of anything that doesn't include basketball. The highly thought out, and heartrending film closely records the lives of two Chicago teenagers as we watch their struggle of basketball, to become the best.…
When his father gets an offer to play the coach at a college so way, they might have to leave the team and move. His father is feeling sick and often in the hospital. One day after an attack he died. At the end, his brother gives him his father's basketball ring his father wanted to give…
With this movie it shows a lot of the good and the ugly in people. It shows that most people can change because of the…
Should you photograph, attempt to touch, pull a nesting mama turtle back to water, or put bright lights/flashes of light on sea turtles (especially hatchlings)?…
People come from different parts of the world and possess different beliefs based on the way they were raised. It doesn’t matter where you are if you pay close attention you will notice there are many worldviews around you. The film “A River Runs Through It” is conveyed from a biblical worldview, however the film itself portrays another worldview as well.…
The ethos of this film was shown through the men featured. The men were so hard working and resilient it was hard to see them not given more opportunities. I felt like those men could have achieved anything with their work ethic. They were focused and passionate about bettering their lives as well as the lives of others.…
Cooping is voter fraud where backers of political candidates vote several times by changing their appearance either by shaving beards or changing clothes. Voter security was lax and cooping was a common practice. (The common phrase was 'Remember to vote early and often.') Sometimes backers would enlist strangers to do this either by bribery or threats of violence. Poe had been found delirious on the street outside a saloon which had been a polling…
