On 22nd May water treatment works shut down because of imminent loss
The weather forecast from Yesterday. off supplies, this meant water usage doubled. Now 140,000 properties in Gloucestershire are without water and are having to use alternative water supplies like bottles of water, bowsers and tankers. Water supplies have been predicted to be fully restores by August.

That wasn’t just by luck it was by careful placement of their buildings, so maybe those who build in the floodplain need to think more carefully about where they choose to build.
Insurance companies are starting to deny flood claims to those living in Tewkesbury because the town is vulnerable to flooding. This is because its beside two sizeable rivers which cause it to have a very high flood risk. Ms Shepard has been with her insurance company for 23 years but her most recent flood claim has been rejected because she lives too close to a river. This is resulting in her worrying that she will never get cover again, but also it will make it even harder to sell her home in the future. But Ms Shepard is just one of many people worried about insurance.
