Forgiveness is one of the hardest things to do. It takes time for pain to heal. Particularly for Jeanette, in the first chapter when she is a fully grown adult and moved on from her family she can not forgive herself for living the life she is now. Regardless of where she will be she generally keeps her patents in the back of her mind. Dissimilar to her parents who simply continue escaping reality the way Jeanette did in the opening chapter. Jeanette would not have had the inspiration she did if her circumstance was different. Her parents cared, sufficiently not to turn their lives around. Jeanette had changed her life and I can tell that even in Jeanette’s circumstances there is still hope. The starting section gives the reader a thought on where Jeanette came from and how far she came to get to where she is
