Foster Mom, Kayla Jennings (15843 FM 1567W Cumby TX 75433) picked Gerimiah up from respite provider, Tammy Etheridge (104 Milligan St. Sulphur Springs TX 75482), today at around 1pm. Tammy voiced concerns for Gerimiah’s breathing and told her it appeared very rapid and unusual. Foster Mom observed Gerimiah’s breathing and felt that, although she had been told that rapid and heavy breathing was normal for a premature baby by the CPS caseworker, since the respite provider had concerns she was insecure about his medical status. Foster Mom, took Gerimiah to the emergency room at the Hunt County Presbyterian Hospital (4215 Joe Ramsey Blvd, Greenville TX). Gerimiah was seen by Dr. Winsteen. The Dr. told Foster Mom, that Gerimiah was not in any stress…

Have you ever been taken by (defects) foster care. Well, foster care is a temporarily arrangement in which adults provide for the child or children whose birth parents are unable to care for them. To determine whether Phony boy Curtis goes to foster care or stays with his brothers will have to acquires him of staying out of jail, correcting his bad habits, and having a stable environment. One way that Phony boy Curtis goes to foster care is that he will have to stay out of jail. The relationship between a social worker and the children they represent in the foster care system evolves many different emotional connections. Social workers provide counseling and direction to people in crisis. Their clients may vary from the young and older unemployed to young children who are in need of foster homes right on down to the elderly people who have no one to care for them to provide for them or even someone to love them. They try to better the clients by helping them obtain government funds, education, and other treatments if needed.…
Foster care is the home placement of children living in situations considered to be in an at risk environment. Abuse and neglect are usually the main causes for the removal of a child from the home. Change of home care is generally intended for temporary purposes to for the primary care giver to regain stability. Provisional interference is the initial intent when removing a child from the home but isn 't always the result depending on the severity of exposure to danger. The objective is positive, to remove children from hazardous circumstances, but has also been associated with the negative developmental consequences that place children at risk for behavioral, psychological, developmental, and academic…
When foster parents still cared for their foster kids and the kids run away, then that means that something is wrong. The kids think and see things that most of us are not able to see. So they wanted to look into it more and they found out that studies show foster cause health problems, homelessness, early pregnancy, and arrest. In the U.S. every 45 seconds a kid is being abused or neglected in 2012 there were 3.3 million reports of child abuse and child welfare reported more than 500,000 cases of abuse. This info explains that there was a lot of kids that have been abused or they ran away from home while they were in…
Foster care is a system where a child is placed into a temporary or permanent home in order to provide proper care to children who need a home for a variety of reasons. For this cross cultural experience, I decided that it would be most beneficial to attend a foster child’s home and interview the direct source itself. Before this experience I expected the child to be living a completely different lifestyle from me. I also anticipated him to be severely influenced by all the changes in his life and I imagined him to be weak and strong at the same time. Weak for all the instability in his life, and strong for getting through it. Of course I expected him to be upset and depressed at least once in his life time but at this point in his age I also…
The issues of neglect and abuse in the foster care system is a subject you do not hear about every day. However, this is a real problem that affects millions of children living in foster care or some kind of transitional care system. 75% of children in foster care prior to leaving the system will have experienced sexual abuse (Sexual Abuse: An epidemic in Foster Care Settings). According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, nearly 475,000 U.S. youth reside in foster care, close to 30,000 leaves the system annually (Braciszewski & Stout, 2012). Research shows that 1.5 million children in America live in families that have experience domestic violence and 7 million of them live in families that have experienced some severe form of domestic violence (Ogbonnaya, 2012). Even though research indicates that the identified incidents of child sexual abuse has declined 47% from 1993 to 2005-2006, this is an issue of concern that the public is not fully aware of the magnitude and effects it has on young people. While the public is not aware of the depth of this problem, child sexual abuse is a prevalent health problem children face with an array of consequences to follow (Child Sexual Abuse Statistics).…
