The reasons children are placed in foster care today are vastly different from their origins and from each other. Kids may go into foster care because of neglect, abuse, an unstable or unsafe environment, and more. Most times, families or the legal guardians of the foster child can get the chance to have their kid back after an allotted slot of time, often in which counseling or therapy is mandatory. People living within the foster care system must deal with prejudices like “foster parents are just doing it for the money” and, as previously stated, that “all foster homes are abusive”.
