four challenges facing the GCC
What are the four challenges facing the GCC and which one do you think is the most important one and why?

There are four major challenges facing the GCC and those are:
(1) The demographic (population) challenge
(2) The economic challenge
(3) The political challenge
(4) The security challenge

Each challenge is important as the other in a way and I'm going to explain each one of them and how they are important.
First I'm going to explain what we mean by demographic challenge. Demographics are the quantifiable statistics of a given population Demographics is also used to identify the study of quantifiable subsets within a given population which characterize that population at a specific point in time. We can also say that demographics are gender, age, ethnicity, knowledge of languages, disabilities, mobility, home ownership, employment status, and even location. The GCC are facing a problem with their population because expatriates constitute a third of their population. For example, in Kuwait the population is about 3 million and only one third is Kuwaiti's.
Second the economic challenge. Economy consists of the production, distribution or trade, and consumption of limited goods and services by different agents in a given geographical location. Countries of the GCC depend on oil as a center of their economy as Oil constitutes biggest GDP portion in all GCC countries. They also depend on other natural resources such as gas.
Third the political challenge. In the GCC citizens take part in the country's politics and in the decision-making process of society and the state. In the GCC there are 3 branches that take part in the politics and those are the executive branch, the legislative branch and the judicial branch. The constitute is the main source that sets the rules and laws of the country.
Forth is the security challenge. There are four parts covering this challenge: Defense security, Food security, Water security and energy security. In defense, GCC countries rely on foreign countries to take over their security such as France, Britain and the USA. In the food security, countries of the GCC export 90% of their food from other countries. Water in the GCC is mostly from desalination because there are no rivers in the area. Finally, energy is produced from gas and fuel which are the only sources available.
In my opinion all of them are important because they all must be solved so that we won't face a problem in the future. But the security challenge is the most difficult one because the GCC countries depend on natural sources that are not renewable. They use their natural sources as the first source of income and that’s what other countries depend on because they expect to get oil in return on doing their services for them. In ten years or so these resources may finish and they will face a huge problem because they won't be able to find a new source in a short period of time. Because of this they should try to find other sources that are renewable.

My recent life journey is focused on experiencing an open and loving relationship with myself. This has proven to be a difficult journey but then again when you are engaged in personal growth little is simple or easy. My desire to learn from others has led me to the selections of "This Old House" by David Sedaris for the narrative essay and "Once More to the Lake" by W.B White for the descriptive essay. The titles indicate that these stories are about relationship and relationship is a basic fundamental connection or need that we all share. Looking at ourselves honestly and living our truth is perhaps the most difficult task we will face during our lifetime; our relationship with self is paramount to becoming who we are called to be in this life.…

In the years since 9/11, homeland security has turn out to be frequently and generally identified as both a word and as a Federal department. However, a large amount has been learned since 9/11 concerning the array of further challenges we face. Hurricane Katrina strongly illustrates the general impact of weak preparedness and response in the face of severe natural disasters. Widespread international cyber attacks from some of the most sophisticated denial-of-service efforts to persistent and rising attacks on U.S. Government cyber systems reflect the increasing importance of securing the information systems that are the very lifeblood of so much of our critical energy, financial, health, commerce, and transportation infrastructure (U.S. Department of Homeland Security, 2010). Global criminal groups that have made stretching efforts to cross our borders with prohibited goods, currency, and trafficked persons which signifies an increasing threat to the prosperity, security, and quality of life to U.S. citizens at home and abroad. As we have seen with H1N1 influenza, the express worldwide spread of infectious diseases can produce great disruptions at home. Stopping these and further risks from threatening our nation has come to be essential to homeland security.…
