Free Narrative Essays: My Hero's Journey
The last thing she wanted to do was run away, but that was all she knew how to do. Run, run, and continue running. How could someone like her be the salvation of a disappearing race? Such thoughts plagued her mind until she felt the familiar warmth that only emitted from Reuna, his words stinging deeply. What did he know about harsh realities? He had no idea what she was going through. Not so long ago she was living in a lavish palace where servants were at her beck and call. Edmund was always chasing after her with a lecture on the tip of his tongue for her unladylike actions after getting the order to collect the wayward princess. Edmund… just the reminder of him made it feel like the wind had knocked out of her lungs and she was suffocating. …show more content…
“The men that swore to protect him, they killed him, and they killed everyone in the palace… So many were killed, all slaughtered for believing in their King and I had to make it out alive,” her voice was weak and wavering unable to keep the dry sobs from escaping. No matter how much time passed the memory never got easier. “I killed so many…. Because of me, thousands were burned alive for harboring me, the fugitive, the one they claimed killed her own father out of greed. I have done nothing but brought death and now you’ve decided to follow me when you should be running while you have the chance,” she got the words out even though they were terribly jumbled. The story was not unknown, though, it was claimed to be the beginning of man's demise and the Church’s biggest move to become a powerful force in the world. “I can never escape the church and I have now put you in danger,” she kept rambling feeling like she could not express herself well enough. In her mind it all made sense, she was the princess, the one sentenced for murdering her father and because she hid in the ghetto they’d burned it down. Sadly, that is not what was coming out of her mouth. She was by no means a storyteller like

Determining Red 40 Concentrations Using Absorption with Beer’s Law Introduction I like color and enjoyed learning about wavelengths and the spectrum of light, so I considered incorporating something related to that into my Internal Assessment. We also had just used concentrations in our Group 4 Project, so when I found an experiment that dealt with both of these I thought it was a great idea. This experiment is not completely original; the basic concept has been used multiple times. It uses Beer’s Law: · A is light absorbance · is “molar absorptivity with units of L mol-1 cm-1” · l is the length of the cuvette in centimeters · c is the concentration of the solution in mol L-1…

Western and nonwestern heroes come from different regions of the world; therefore, have different cultural backgrounds. More specifically, western heroes come from the Greco-Roman or Judeo-Christian traditions. Nonwestern heroes come from other parts of the world that would not associate with these traditions. While these heroes might seem to have little in common when it comes to origin, “The Hero’s Journey” by Joseph Campbell demonstrates that all heroes have “similar patterns” (Campbell). What makes a true hero? Joseph Campbell created the cycle of the “hero’s journey” and many popular books and movies today fit the requirements of this cycle closely. The video states that this cycle is like a clock, starting and ending with status quo, however, the ending status quo is changed from the beginning as a result of the hero’s actions (What Makes A Hero?). Following the cycle of the “hero’s journey”, Creighton Brown can rightly be named as a true hero as he is taken to an unfamiliar land, receives guidance from an older, wiser mentor, and throughout the story undergoes changes and develops into a new person.…
