Before America was a nation, we were colonized by England. Safe to say that those were the worst years to be a colonist. They were the big dogs. England is the reason why America created the bill of rights. We had no rights when they were in control. We couldn't say anything against them or you would die. If you tried to expose them in anyway, you would be sentenced to death. The world needs to know the disgusting things going on in a country. England didn't want anyone to know what they were really doing to the 13 colonies. We disagreed with them. United States” is a perfect example of the supreme court protecting the right. This case took place in 1971. Daniel Ellsberg, a pentagon employee, turned in documents describing the involvement of the United States in Vietnam. The supreme court stated that “No branch of government could abridge the freedom of press, speech, religion and assembly.” I couldn't have said it better myself. In other words, you can't interfere with the freedom of the press. Don't you think us the people deserve to know what our country did in Vietnam? We are all apart of one nation and we all should know what America is getting involved
