Freedom Is Never More Than One Generation Away From Extinction

Ronald Reagan once said, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same.” This quote perfectly supports my opinion that you do need to repeatedly win freedom. I mean, there is always some new conflict going on, someone always thinking that have less freedom than a different gender, skin color, or maybe even size.
New conflicts and issues pop up almost every day. For example, African Americans still aren’t as free as whites. Slavery was a big issue a long time ago, and when that ended, you would think we would all be equal, right? Unfortunately, no. Today, black people are quite often targeted when it comes to crimes and shootings.
One of the freedoms would have to be freedom of worship- People look down on other religions and think they are not as good as others, especially those who do not worship our god. In fact It was one said,” Islam is an intolerant religion… Islam is a Satanic religion.” Also, watch what you say. Our freedom of speech is slowly slipping away. In a place where you are supposed to be able to speak your mind is changing its ways. Now, speaking out your opinion can get you in trouble or looked down upon. Like, protester groups for example. Yes, sometimes they can get carried away, but other times they get in trouble for just talking and saying what they are upset about.
