On the evening of December 9th, the great King Duncan of Scotland was murdered in his chamber. According to Thomson Parker, a Scottish news reporter, King Duncan was at the castle of his Thane, Lord Macbeth, and the night he was killed. Parker further mentioned that Lord Macbeth had arranged a grand party for king and his sons. After hearing the news of king murdered the whole Scotland is mourning for their beloved king but they are also outraged and want to know who committed this foul deed. The real question is who first found the king's body. In an interview with Lord Macbeth he said" early in the morning, two noblemen, Macduff and Lennox, called at the castle to visit King Duncan but when they entered Duncan’s chamber they exclaimed “o horror horror horror!” lord Macbeth also said “before anyone could investigate I killed the two guards, their bloody daggers were proof that they committed this horrible deed.” King Duncan’s two sons Malcolm and Donalbain fearing for their own lives fled Scotland, Malcolm for England and Donalbain for Ireland. Because their hasty departure makes them appear guilty and prime suspects they ran away. Macduff says, “Is speculated that king’s sons have bribed the guards to kill Duncan because the crown passes to nearest eligible kin.”
The police are still trying to find out the true murderer until than the two sons will stay under the custody of police of Scotland. King Duncan’s body is removed to Colmekill a burial place for the kings of Scotland.

“Tongue nor heart cannot conceive nor name thee!” (2.3. 74). Thy greatest king hath been murdered. Thoughts of sorrow and wondering have filled thee. Who wouldst do such a thing? Was thy host not watchful enough with the most honored man in his presence? Maybe thou should have stayed with his Majesty for he is of the highest nobility and honor possible. Who ever hath committed this crime is guilty of murder and treason. Oh! The people, the people! What shall become of them without thy leader? Will the criminals roam the streets, with the people fearing to leave their homes? All of these are questions with no answers! I do believe it’s my turn to step in and allow myself the privilege of discovering which fiend it was that hath murdered his Majesty, the king. At first, it was thought to be the beast like guards who stood outside the king’s chamber. It deeply concerns me as to why Macbeth would dispose of them so soon after the death of his royal highness without the chance to probe their minds with questions and make them face the rest of Scotland as those whom betrayed their leader. Maybe it was the sons of the great Duncan which have set up the murderous plot to gain the throne for their own selfish purpose. The fact that they have left the country and fled in opposite directions is beyond my knowledge. If they wanted to be king, why murder your own father and flee to a different country…? What about the recently promoted Thane of Cawdor? He holds much too great of an honor and sincerely respected Duncan. But still, he did murder the guards; maybe he was hiding something like a vital piece of information. Now that I think of it, if I had been the one in Macbeth’s position, I too may have lost my temper. In the wise words of Macbeth, “Who can be wise, amazed, temp’rate, and furious,/ Loyal, and neutral, in a moment? No man.” (2.3. 27-28).…

The prosecution has found Macbeth guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, with several accounts of murder, manslaughter, attempted murder, one account of regicide and conspiring to murder. At first he was doubtful, but with the support of Lady Macbeth, his curiosity escalated and he decided to invite the king to his castle where he will murder him. The king’s murder by Macbeth shows that Macbeth is a traitor and is disloyal because he was supposed to protect the king as shown in the quote: “Which do but what they should, by doing everything Safe toward your love and honour.” (1.4.27-28) but in the end he chose to kill him instead. Macbeth in this scene shows himself as an honourable and dependable man who Duncan can trust protecting him. Macbeth is initially established as loyal and faithful and he shows this by saying, "The service and the loyalty I owe, In doing it, pays itself. Your highness ' part." The idea of loyalty in Elizabethan times was a huge deal, however, during the course of the play, jealously of King Duncan grows in his veins. After some encouragement from other characters, ambition overrides his core and soon King Macbeth is born. During the 17th Century productions of the play, Macbeth kills King Duncan offstage. There are many theories as to why this occurred (because all other murder scenes were performed on stage) but the main reason is because authorities didn’t want their citizens thinking the government could be removed so easily. People back then would respond to this idea of killing the king in horror and disgust. This was because loyalty was valued highly back then and to earn faith from your king would require a lot of effort. So when Macbeth becomes king, anyone who even followed him out of fear or blackmail would be seen cowardly…

Ladies and Gentlemen, I will be brief. You have heard the testimonies and seen the evidence; it is now time for the fate of Macbeth to be decided. Today you have met scores of witnesses testify, under oath, the defendant's entirely good and honest character, and have pondered as to how the King of Scotland could commit such atrocities. However, unmistakable evidence opposes such testimonies and proves beyond reasonable doubt that the defendant Macbeth killed his King, Duncan the II of Scotland, his life-long friend Banquo and Lady Macduff and her children.…

“Macbeth”, is a play written by William Shakespeare. It is considered the darkest and most powerful tragedies. It was written back in the 1600’s where in that period of time everyone was influenced by temptations. We live in a cruel world where people will do almost anything to gain power and be in charge. The play dramatizes the awful effects produced when evil is chosen as a way to fulfil the ambition for power. Macbeth was pressured by his wife Lady Macbeth. This led him to the masterly murder of the King Duncan which made him take the throne for himself. There are debates regarding who was mostly responsible for the death of King Duncan. Some say it was Lady Macbeth’s fault, others think it is Macbeth’s fault. In the play we collected evidence which supported the fact that Macbeth himself was more responsible for the death of King Duncan more than his evil wife. Macbeth was the one who committed the murder. Also, even though he was pressured by his wife he is still responsible for his own actions. Lastly Macbeth already liked the idea of killing king Duncan before Lady Macbeth knew about the prophecy.…
