There are several steps that Vivian Noble will need to take in order to recruit and develop a new workforce. First, she needs to find strong applicants who fit in with the company’s culture and goals. Vivian will need to make sure that human resources pay attention to laws and civil rights when hiring new employees. She should research and learn about the Phoenix area and what people are in needs of jobs. I would suggest reaching out to college career fairs, Internet sites, newspapers, community centers, and minority organizations. She needs to find people who match the company’s personality and goals to create a positive relationship within the store. I believe that Vivian should make sure she keeps the senior managers involved in planning the recruitment activities. She should set up a training program that is mandatory for the recruiters. The training would include information on hiring procedures, interview techniques, affirmative employment goals, and appropriate questions and behavior (Building and Maintaining a Diverse and High Quality Workforce). After recruiting applicants Fresh Foods Supermarkets must hire them. Vivian has specific goals on the types of people she wants to hire for her diverse store. She will need to review the internal human resources policies and offer jobs to the candidates who fit in the best. Hiring the best employee mix is the first step to achieving a diverse, high-quality workforce. After hiring, Vivian needs to ensure that her valuable new employees will stay with the store. She will need to train all employees to be supportive of one another. Emphasis on learning and development will help to keep employees on the same page. Vivian knows that opening this new store will be a challenge but she needs to be confident in the people she hires and then do her best to keep them around. I would suggest multiple training programs to develop her new workforce. Because the different cultures
