Future High School Graduates
Congress should require all future U.S. high school graduates to spend one year in service to their country before college.

Support 1: If we had graduated high school students spend a year in service, the streets would be much safer. With all of the new civilian service participators, the streets would have much more protection. We would have high school students patrolling the streets of neighborhoods and there would be much more protection.

Support 2: Graduated students would get good experience in serving their country. Normal high school graduates would go straight to college after high school with little experience. With this new requirement students would get the experience they need to thrive in college and in their future careers.

Specifically, those individuals of eighteen years and above will learn to be respectful of authority, improve their abilities in leadership, and have enhanced self-discipline. These traits will be equally useful even after the military service and during their lives ("List Of 12 Key Pros And Cons Of Military Draft"). In this case, discipline and responsibility for them will take on new significance. Young people will become not only responsible for their country, but the world as well. Additionally, serving in the military can subsequently reduce the rate of unemployment. That is because drafted soldiers are taught various practical skills from training in Advanced Individual Training (AIT) for example truck driving and cooking so in further will be able to use them when they return to the civilian…

In some countries, every young person must serve two years of military service. The general public in the United States feels that we should allow that in our country while other people disagree. A two-year period of military service should be mandatory for all young adults, but making the devotion to serving that time in the military should be each individual’s decision. Personally, young adults should be able to live their lives of how they want it, and other mature people should be able to volunteer for the military. Each individual should be able to make their own choices in life and not be forced to do something they strongly disagree with. Granting opportunities to young and mature people will help the military enlist a mature recruit, strengthen the military clan, and attract even more people to join in the military. We should be able to grant choices to the young and mature adults and respect their decision.…

This option encourages all students to strive for further education since the school does not offer any classes that would be repeated in college. Instead, students would understand that attending college would provide them with additional skills needed for them to succeed in the future. In fact, learning these skills in college are even more beneficial as they focus on a certain field of study, teaching students more in-depth skills relating to their preferred area of work, rather than giving students a general overview of all the skills in high school, before students have decided on their future career plans. Despite the benefits, this option promotes failure for the students who are planning on stopping their education after high school. Without an opportunity to even learn about the skills they could be lacking, this option leaves students ignorant to the necessary skills of the workforce, causing these students to lead unsuccessful lives and contributing to an unqualified and uneducated…

Should the United States require all adults to perform one year of community service by the age of 30? I personally think this is a topic that is not at all, relevant. I believe if someone wants to lend a helping hand, then they should lend a helping hand. If you don't prefer to do this kind of community service, the government shouldn't force you to do so. There would be a lot of change in how community service is done today if the government required at least one year to be served by the age of 30.…

My initial interest in the naval service was inspired by the sacrifices of the men and women serving our country. Serving our country requires well-developed character, integrity, and commitment to service before self. “My fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.” is from a famous inaugural address from late President John F. Kennedy (BrainyQuote.
