Future Life
|Life in the future |
|Can you imagine what our lives will be like in the year 2050? Perhaps you will be flying off for a holiday on the moon, or maybe you will | |
|be taking your dog for a walk in virtual reality. We recently carried out a survey or 1,000 people from different countries to find out | |
|what they think life will be like in the future. The results clearly demonstrate both our hopes and fears. | |
|The survey suggests that friendship -one of the most important human relationships - will have changed dramatically. People will make |
|friends through by Internet. What is more, a large number of people will even come across their future husbands or wives in this way |
|Computers will have become absolutely essential by 2050. Even now, some people describe them as their best friend! Others, however, say that|
|we will become much more isolated from each other because we will have little real human contact. |
|Education will have changed a lot too. As more and more children will be using computer in school, certain abilities, such as mental |
|arithmetic, won't be necessary since there will be computer programs for most calculations. Even writing by hard will have become a thing of|
|the past. |
|According to the survey, home life will be better. Most people believe that by 2050 robots will be doing the house work and we will be |
|eating ready-made food. A lot of people think that we might only cook for fun in the future. |

In a recent study conducted by Matthew Brashears of Cornell University, 2,000 adults were asked the number of friends whom they share a close relationship with. The average response was 2.03 and it decreased from a similar study from 1985, which received an average response of three close friends (Silard. “From Face-to-Face to Facebook”). It is proven that humans thrive on human interaction, so cutting that face-to-face off could damage humans negatively by causing them to suffer more health problems due to physical inactivity and no interaction. “People who, like the Facebook COO, claim that we have never been so connected with each other are missing a vital point: the people making all these "connections" through the Internet and social media are, in the non-virtual plane sometimes referred to as "reality," sitting alone in front of a pixelated screen.” (Silard.). Even though we are able to interact with different of people from around the world, we become isolated from the people around us. People cut off their friends and family and would rather spend time on the…

In 1981, IBM sold the first "PC", made from an 8088 processor with a clock speed of 4.77 MHz. It wasn’t the first computer ever made, but it was the first computer sold to ordinary people. We have moved on, we have made changes, and we have progressed to enhance computers. Computers have found their way into many aspects of our lives. In most cases computers make things easier for us. Computers have helped us so much, yet people seem to think we have come to be too dependent on them. Are computers really hurting our lifestyles? They have allowed us to learn, to communicate, and to organize making life just a little less stressful. Computers are great for the future of our world and will be greatly needed as we have many more things to discover in the near future and beyond. People may complain and argue that computers are just too much but they will see the truth when life needs more organization ,more communication and more education. Yes we could survive without computers, but the truth is… do we want to when we realize just what a computer can do for us. Computers are a central data base with thousands of resources instruments and tools that can help change the way we live. Yes we can use books and other resources to learn, but isn’t it nice to highlight the facts we need to know and take out the rest. Furthermore I will continue to discuss the reasons why computers are good and why we have not become overly dependent on them.…

In this day and age, new technology is everywhere, but it’s usually in the form of phones, computers, and, now, watches. However, we’re forgetting one, robots. Now, they’re still quite popular, but they’re mostly the ideals of science fiction worlds set so far into the future we’ve migrated to space. Is it really so farfetched of an idea, though, to think that maybe we could achieve that level? No, in fact and despite the spotlight being diverted away, we’re heading down the path to robo-world already. What a robot is and has been is quite a lenient description, but no one can deny how much they’ve already shaped our lives. According to the passage “Robots Long Ago” by Karen Brinkmann, “Today robots help people with everything from surgery…

For many, the future holds endless possibilities, volatile to constant changings. In fact, there was a supernova of artistry that crafted the world into a mechanized empire. AI computers replaced tangible beings and created ease and a sense of comfort that, unfortunately, only relieved a paltry fraction of the world’s population. The world seemingly became a utopia, peaceful and blithe, without anxiety or trepidation, but that only existed in the dream world.…
