Simply paying respectful attention to what your dreaming mind tells you will bring a fuller understanding of yourself and of the meaning of your life.
The most important step to remembering your dreams is to intend to remember them. Every night, as you get into bed, remind yourself that you want to remember your dreams. After you decide to do this, notice whether or not this simple act of reminding yourself to remember actually happens every night. If you decide you want to remind yourself to remember your dreams, but somehow you don't think about it before going to sleep, there is an excellent chance that you feel ambivalent about remembering.
Are you a little afraid of what the dreaming mind might tell you? Have dreams been disturbing in the past? It's more important to understand any uneasiness you feel about remembering dreams than it is to push past the uneasiness. If you are able to compassionately understand whatever reluctance you feel about remembering dreams, chances are that the reluctance will
