ANS: In reality, it took me time to finally choose a Gamblers Anonymous support group as my last paper. I made that choice because I realize gambling is a serious problem which needs attention. Therefore, people could spend many years in college had degrees, had high standard jobs and lived in poverty if addicted gambling. People may be aware of some other addictions and avoid them, but totally ignore that gambling is a real addiction that could destroy somebody’s well-being and promotes low self-esteem. I had a strong desire to learn about many support groups throughout this quarter especially Gamblers Anonymous (GA).

Before I thought it was a similar meeting like AA, but, in reality, it was not. People who attended the meeting were all working without any physical dependency but have an addictive personality. One member said he is a hard worker making good money but always broke. Therefore, he feels tired living that poverty’s life while he is working. After the meeting, it was sad to see how addiction may come in so many ways and prevent individual's success regarding of the degree or job you may have. As a future professional nurse, I realized become someone in life is more than having a degree or making money, but it is all about a whole understanding of life and the respect of the established principles.
