What gangs were like then:
- Rumbles/ getting into fights
- Stealing
- Kidnapping
- Jumping people
- Carry weapons (guns, switchblades, and small knives)
How gangs influence the culture:
Both gangs in The Outsiders seem different which makes them split apart and fight against each other. The Socs seem like they were a high-class gang. They had nice cars and were well dressed. The greasers don't seem as high class as the Socs, they look like they were more of a middle-class and had greasy hair. Both gangs seem very different.
Gangs influence the culture by showing diversity among people. Gangs
or Groups of kids may not be as violent nowadays, but everybody needs somebody to watch their back. There still are groups of kids that can be very cruel to others, but I think that nowadays things are a bit different and I don't always hear on the news about teens driving around with pocket knives in their pockets.
