Gays Vs God Persuasive Speech
Gay's vs God

What is it about gays that just set religious people off? I mean go up to any Catholic ( and by any I mean mostly the grandpa's and grandma's), merely mention the word gay and they immediately whip out this 10 pound bible, complete with trumpets blaring and angels flying around, amazingly enough it managed to fit into their pocket). They then proceed to flip through a million pages and then, without even looking at the passage selected (complete with sticky notes and highlights) begin to recite word for word as to why Gays are evil.
They might start off with "If a man also lies with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. (Leviticus 20:13V13) Here it clearly states that being homosexual is a sin, but doesn't it also say that they should be put to death for being gay? Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure God wouldn't want all the glory for being a mass murderer. But I could be wrong, maybe God does want a world full of robots that follow the bible exactly as it is written.

However, between watching people and learning of our history, I've come to the conclusion that people tend to bend the truth a little. This is the reason I became agnostic. I just happen to believe that over the centuries, God's word may have been distorted. Who's to say that when rewriting the bible, words were not switched, that a person's biased opinion changed paragraphs? King Henry the 8th did it. Isn't it possible that someone else could? If God does indeed exist should he not love his people for who they are, be they gay or straight? My gay friends do not deserve to be condemned for their preferences, there are worse things then being gay. For example? They could be axe murderers. Or Hitler. Or

Should Christians Accept Homosexuality? “ In Romans 1:26-27, God is seen to have given men and women “up” to disgraceful passions. This act was in reprisal for idolatry and failure to recognize God as who He is. So we have god as the causal connection to acts, which they condemn! This does not make sense. Why would god cause men and women to engage in acts that were not of their nature as a punishment for ignoring his goodness?” (Simpson, Bruce J.)…

The way we view homosexuality has very much to do with how we were raised and taught depending on where we are from, our parents beliefs and what others around us tell us. Because of this we believe what we believe and will stand by them unless we ourselves come to a different conclusion as we grow older. I was raised a Catholic and was taught by the Bible teachings that homosexuality was wrong and will go to hell if that is what you practiced. In this paper we will look a little at the historical and scientific perspectives of homosexuality.…

A negative attitude toward same-sex/same-gender attraction and orientation and a view that engaging in homosexual acts is morally unacceptable and ultimately punishable in the spiritual sense are some mainstream Christian biblical interpretations regarding homosexuality. In this presentation,…

Religion is a key source of social knowledge, and in 1977, religious acceptance of gayness was merely a glimmer in the eye of progressive theologians. Gay rhetors lacked the necessary religious materials to rebut scourge rhetors, and the dialogue came to an inevitable dead end. The scourge/affirmation polarity was beneficial to the position espoused by Bryant and her allies, and the inevitable dead-end reveals the danger that polar opposition poses to pro-gay rhetors. Scourge rhetoric incorporating references to children presented a troubling persuasion dilemma for lesbian and gay rhetors. First, reference to child molestation is a powerful visceral weapon in the fundamentalist arsenal. Second, it plays into traditional stereotypes of gays, recalling old social knowledge of lesbian and gay persons to stymie the attempt to create new knowledge. Third, the focus on the consequences of gayness enabled anti-gay rhetors to move the discourse from an argument about the need for a particular antidiscrimination measure back to the affirmation/scourge opposition. It gave citizens a rationale on which to premise their distaste for gays without directly expressing distaste for the moral worth…

In the bible God created man and woman for a purpose. This purpose was to be able to reproduce the population and for one man to be in love and with one woman. I do not believe that in a homosexuality house hold that a child would be raised properly and normally like most children are able to be raised. I feel putting children in that environment is suggesting that homosexuality is okay and it truly isn’t when in terms of the bible. This sin was so important to God that he directly approached the subject in the bible saying it is a sin and that a man should be with a woman and a woman should be with a man. Being a huge supporter of the Christian faith because I am apart of that faith, I believe that being a homosexual is dishonorable and truly upsets God.…

Just because someone doesn’t love the same way as you do does not make them wrong or make them crazy, it makes them unique. Majority of people around the world feel that marriage should be between a man and a woman and that gays should not have that right because they believe being gay is morally wrong. If being gay is morally wrong then why are their gay people? That is like saying being white is morally wrong. People honestly who believe this don’t really stop and think outside the box and think that what is in the bible is right. If you look at the ethical reason behind why people believe that gay marriage is wrong, it is purely due to discrimination. There are no real reasons why gay marriage should not be allowed, there are only reasons based on opinions, and one's own bias reasoning.…

Ever since the beginning of creation, God made man and woman to reproduce and create humanity. God never in between allowed or said that same sex marriage was permissible or was the natural way to create a generation. For example in Genesis chapter 19 the story of Sodom and Gomorrah explained the wickedness of the city that mainly strived from homosexuality. Genesis 19:5- And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? Bring them out unto us that we may know them. The city 's perverseness made God infuriated and led to the destruction of that city turning it into fire and brimstone. This gives evidence that homosexuality is a religious sin, which is analogous to many other Biblical prohibitions, like committing adultery which transgresses ethics.…

I do not believe in the bible and I am allowed to marry in any church or place with open arms in the name of God. Everyone takes this argument to the bible, how many mothers kick their children out for being gay is growing everyday. 1 Timothy 5:8 Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. From what I have read online and from the parents words and what they have written they are christian. They are worse than an unbeliever, worse than me, And I believe that anybody can love no matter what race, religion, how old you are you can still love. What if being gay was normal and being straight was a sin? You would be sinning everyday and you know what you would feel. Bad you would wanna kill yourself, you wouldn't wanna be yourself anymore because everyone hates you. Or you would live through it and be the happiest person on the planet and nobody could stop you. The bible was written by a bunch of guys. People can not be made from clay, someone can not be made of dust. I went to church and I sang for people, I never paid attention to the pastor because well I did not believe in the bible. He spoke about how anyone who loved the same gender as themselves would be burned in hell for all eternity. I got up right in the middle of his speech and left that room. My uncle was sent to prison for flirting with a man in a bar, My other uncle had to get a divorce with his husband and their children were taken away because people would riot outside there house and they put the kids lives at danger. What's so wrong with gay marriage anyhow? Are they touching you, bothering you, are they trying to turn you? No so leave them alone. In human nature I do believe that we all want to outrank each other and be better. Christians…

Many people and organizations believe that same-sex marriage is a blasphemies sin to Christ and his or her religion. Moreover, many political groups are against same-sex marriage just to get votes and an official chair in office. These people believe they can control the feelings or emotions of a human being. They tend to use the bible as a reference but only use specific parts from the bible such as the book of Proverbs.…

Christianity is a confusing religion. It’s confusing when I hear that God hates gays and does not accept them. They will go to hell for their preferences. There are a numerous amount of reasons as to why people oppose gay marriage, but basically it comes down to an absolute infringement on the civil liberties of homosexuals. The most basic argument for the opposition to gay marriage is the simple statement ?Marriage is an institution between one man and one woman.? I would like to know who is to decide what marriage is and isn?t. The married? Politicians? The Bible? Isn?t freedom of religion also freedom from religion? Somehow the ?Bible? assertion always seems to arise into modern political debates. I want to know whatever happened to separation from religion and state. I want to know when white male Christians are going to realize that there are many other religions, races, and sexual orientations out there other than their own. In fact, Scott Bidstrup cleverly states, ?many sects of Buddhist celebrate gay relationships freely and would like to have the authority to make them legal marriages. In that sense, their religious freedom is being infringed.? Although, the Bible argument should immediately be dicounted, even if we were to survey the text, who is to interpret the statements. ?People in the late 1800s and early 1900s justified the exploitation of slaves claiming that the Bible clearly showed Gods support for it. Now people are saying that they can clearly see Gods condemnation of gays.? (Silver 64) For a moment, branching off from the marriage topic, I?d like to just…

Homophobia is a real issue today, people. In the event that ""God"" is an altruistic, irrepressible power for good, why would it be a good idea for him to consume individuals for being gay? God did not consume Sodom for being gay - he consumed it since they had a go at RAPING a holy messenger. No say that it was on the grounds that they were gay - they had a go at implementing themselves into an unwilling individual.…

Conservative Christians believe that the church should not condone a “homosexual lifestyle,” but should instead help homosexuals find a new life in Christ in hopes of changing their sexual orientation, as homosexuality is a sin. Groups like the Christian “Exodus” movement are organized to help gays and lesbians in this transformation. Other Christians are those who believe that sexual orientation is not just another choice, but a biological given, of God’s creation. For many Christian gays and lesbians, homosexual partnerships, like heterosexual ones, are relationships of choice, of fidelity, and of love. Those few Christians who support gays and lesbians insist that the message of Christ is of divine love and reconciliation, not condemnation. They view that the Christian community should reach out to welcome and support rather than condemning.…
