Basketball which is a successful sport game that is common in the world. There are many basketball tournaments in different country. However, there are a little bit different in the local basketball tournament and the oversea basketball tournament. Here, we’ve a compare of HKSSF(Hong Kong Schools Sport Federation) inter-school basketball competition which is the local basketball tournament and the NBA(National Basketball Association) which is the oversea international basketball tournament.

First, the competitors of the tournaments are totally different in HKSSF and NBA. The HKSSF which is a organization that provide a inter-school sport competition to the secondary schools in Hong Kong. For the competitors of basketball tournament held by HKSSF are the secondary student who are the members of school basketball team. For the NBA basketball tournament , the competitors of the tournament are the professional basketball player who represent different teams. We can know that the NBA basketball tournament as a oversea basketball competition is more professional than the local tournament.

Second, the duration of the game also different in HKSSF and NBA. For the basketball competition of HKSSF , the game shall consist of four periods of ten minutes. And there shall be an interval of 30 seconds between the first an second period, between the third and fourth period and before an extra period. There shall be a half-time interval of two minutes. For the NBA basketball tournament , there are four periods of twelve minutes and the over time periods will be five minutes. Also ,there are 130 seconds permitted between the first and second periods , the third and fourth periods and before any overtime period. The rule of timeouts are also different between HKSSF and NBA. For the HKSSF basketball tournament , there are five charged time outs may be granted to each team during normal playing time , two charged time
