were so embedded into their role that it was not noticeable. I learned a lot from the experience and understanding diverse lifestyles being shown on stage from 1904. I came to the conclusion that this event relates well with some of SIUE values.
The value that it most like is excellence. The play showed high-quality learning beyond the classroom. Taking the way people retain information to the stage is remarkable. Having outstanding public service within the campus community, but also having outsiders coming in to see the play, showing what SIUE strives for. Inclusion is also another value that was incorporated into the play. It had a diverse understanding of humankind in the early 1900 on how African-Americans lived. After the play, you were able to freely voice your opinion on how you thought the play went, which is another way of getting the audience involved
more. I would not only recommend others to attend events like this play, but I personally will be attending more in the future. It was not only something for me to do on campus, but more of something to engage in and be a part of. It was something enjoyable and pleasing to watch. SIUE is very generous for funding and helping the theatre department put on such plays for the community. The school takes pride in the plays and musicals that they put on, as they should. I will be attending the next play which is right before Thanksgiving break in November.
