What is gender? What is sex in biological terms? Are gender and sex the same thing? Explain why or why not?
Gender is socially how a person is defined. For example, if they are strong and muscular they are male or if they have long hair and wear makeup they are female (Sheafer, pg. 349). In biological terms the definition of sex would explain if you are male or female depending of biological factors. Gender and sex are not the same thing, gendar seems as though they are standards that are set by society that a male or female would live by to define them as male or female. Sex is more direct, if you have male parts, then you are male but if you have female parts you are female.
How do gender and sex contribute to the concepts and constructions of masculinity and femininity?
Gender and sex are the descriptions of the concepts of masculinity and femininity. If we indicate that we are the gender of female then we are indicating that we act femainine such as paint our nails or use make up. But if we are indicating that we are the sex of male then this means we have male parts. Some people are the gender of female but the sex of male.
Do our concepts of gender and sex contribute to the ways we embrace gender and sex in diversity?
Yes, of course our concepts of gender and sex contribute to the ways we embrace gender and sex in diversity. If we choose not to acknowledge gender then their would only be the questions of sex. Which means we would only acknowledge an individual off of if they had male or female parts when in fact some individuals may have the parts of a male or female but on the inside relate more with the the opposite sex.

Yes, our concepts of gender and
