Gender And Memory

Is there a difference between gender and memory? The purpose of this study was to determine whether females or males have better short-term memory. By doing this, a study of the ten digit span task was conducted to 40 subjects. The subjects were split into two groups, in which consisted of 20 females and 20 males for each group. One group was tested for 20 seconds and the second group was tested for 35 seconds. Subjects were given a paper with ten digits and were asked to memorize it for either 20 seconds or 35 seconds and were asked to recall as many digits as possible. Results indicated that men and women showed similar results when memorizing numbers whether it was incorrect or correct. Further information is discussed thoroughly regarding gender and memory.
