What is gender? What is sex in biological terms? Is gender and sex the same thing? Explain why or why not? The definition of gender is dealing with men and women which is constructed socially, it is not the same as sex. Many people believe that “gender and sex is the same thing but this is not true. Gender refers to attitude, behaviors and self-identification as masculinity or femininity, “
How do gender and sex contribute to the concepts and constructions of masculinity and femininity? Femininity and masculinity or a person gender this refers to how a person view themselves as a woman or man in society. Males usually look at themselves as being masculine and females usually looks at themselves as being feminine. There is a possibility that that a female view themselves as being masculine or a man to view his self as feminine.
Do our concepts of gender and sex contribute to the ways we embrace gender and sex in diversity? Two different groups of people describe sex and gender diversity. A biological reality is being intersex.
The Gender is different from a person’s sexuality. When using the phrase “sex and gender diverse” this is a definition showing how the gender identity is different when thinking of cultural assumptions of “normality”.
Do our concepts of gender and sex contribute to our understanding of sexual orientation? Explain. “Sexual orientation is distinct from other components of sex and gender, including biological sex.” The gender that a person is attracted to is a person’s sexual orientation.
