More specifically, for instance, in the scene where Tenoch uses toilet in Julio’s house, he uses his foot to lift up, which is something he also does at the cheap motel. On the other hand, in the scene where Julio uses toilet in Tenoch’s house, he lights a match to mask the smell after using the restroom. Thus, how Tenoch uses the toilet shows his degrading attitude towards the working class, while how Julio uses the restroom shows his trying to fit in with the upper class. These revelations are simple, but effectively reveals the undeniable division between
classes and attitudes despite of the fact that two boys get along well.
Besides, the difference between classes also shows through other factors. More specifically, for instance, in the scene where a poverty man comes to beg some money at a restaurant, he is disregarded by the protagonists. Beside this man, the film also shows other people in the place such as lower-class women who work and dance in the back room. Also, in the middle of the film, a bribe blocks a country road and asks for donations in the middle of the film while two boys travel. Thus, these other factors/individuals also illustrate the difference between social classes by directly contrasting them to the protagonists or others such as who attend the party.
