Conversations and discussions relating to feminism LGBTQ rights are being brought back once again in our everyday lives. We have seen the big changes, including the legalization of same sex marriage in 2005 and The Royal Commission on the Status of Women in 1970. However, sexism and bias due to race still exists in our society today. One thing I personally experienced was when I first applied to my first part time job at Burger King. On my first day of work, my manager said that he preferred females to work at the front of the store. This included the cash register, drive-thru, cleaning the lobby, and cleaning the bathrooms. He hired males to work at the back, which included making burgers, changing the oil and refilling soft drinks and the ice cream machine. Many of my former female colleagues have asked if he could train them to work at the back but he refused. He also didn’t prefer males working at the front of the store
