Following the death of L.C. all of the other siblings were tested for Marfan syndrome and only R.C. tested positive. R.C. was tall and thin, but did not exhibit other signs and symptoms of Marfan until later in life. R.C. decided never to marry and produce children because of her diagnosis. She has developed multiple complications as a results of Marfan syndrome including aortic dissections, aneurysms, mitral valve replacement, detached retinas and cataracts, and shoulder dislocations.
