George Bole Biography
George Boole George Boole was born on November 2, 1815 in Lincoln, Lincolnshire, England. His parents were John and Mary Ann Boole. George’s father was a shoemaker and his mother a lady’s maid. Following George’s birth, Mary Ann Boole bore three further children Following George’s birth, Mary Ann Boole bore three further children. His siblings were named; Mary Ann, William, and Charles Wallace. John was George’s first mathematics teacher and strongly encouraged his son’s academic development.
From 1831, Boole began an ambitious programme of self-education in mathematics. Boole worked as an assistant teacher at two schools. He was not satisfied with the low wages and looked for another profession. George Boole attended Bainbridge's Commercial
