Abstract
This paper examines, analyzes and synthesizes many credible sources by examining several aspects of the “George Zimmerman Murder Trial.” The sources examine the high profile, media frenzied court case involving George Zimmerman, in which Zimmerman was tried regarding the killing of an African American teenager by the name of Trayvon Martin. This paper gives a description of the charges filed, the impact of the media on the case, the issues of the case, and the outcome of the case.

The George Zimmerman Murder Trial George Zimmerman, a resident of the Twin Lakes community in Sanford, Florida, was a member of his local neighborhood watch in February of 2012. Zimmerman, 28 years old at the time, was very active in his role in the neighborhood watch.
The Night of the Shooting On February 26th, 2012 at approximately 7 p.m., George Zimmerman was involved in an altercation with a young man by the name of Trayvon Martin. Zimmerman claimed that he was on his way to the grocery store and saw a male, matching the description of Martin, looking into homes. Zimmerman then called the non-emergency number and was asked for his exact location. Zimmerman claimed he exited his vehicle to look for a street sign. Zimmerman wrote in his statement to the police that night:
The dispatcher told me not to follow the suspect & that an officer was in route. As I headed back to my vehicle the suspect said “You got a problem,” I said “No.” The suspect said, “you do now.” As I looked and tried to find my phone to dial 911 the suspect punched me in the face. I fell backwards onto my back. The suspect got on top of me. (p. 2-3)
Zimmerman continued to write that he yelled for help several times. He then said that
Martin was trying to keep him from yelling. He continued, saying that when he tried to sit upright, Martin slammed his head against the sidewalk. Zimmerman said this went on a few times.

There is so many things he did right but also a lot that he did wrong. Michael Blair quickly became a suspect in this case. He had previously been convicted of a sexual offense and three eyewitnesses told police they saw him in the park that day( Innocence Project) . These people however did not identify Blair in a photo lineup as the man they saw in the park until after his picture had appeared in the media( Innocence Project) . He had never stayed anywhere long enough to make friends or keep up with his schoolwork. His family wanted to help him but didn't know how. He began skipping school and spending more and more time on the streets with other truants. At first it was great. The group begged on the streets and on the streets and in the shopping malls. Sometimes they stole clothes or videos and CDs. It was only a matter of time before Martin was caught” (Stearman, 7).…

1). Needless to say the mature reporter is capable of writing an effective article and “There is No Need to Change Stand Your Ground Laws” is no exception. In her introduction, Kam immediately opens up her argument by affirming her position and justifying it. She introduces the task force that was created, in the wake of the Zimmerman case, to determine exactly what her article stands for: keeping the stand your ground laws as is. Kam also uses this time to set up the credibility of her sources. The task force was appointed by Governor Rick Scott and was “comprised of prosecutors, criminal defense attorneys, law enforcement officials and Palm Beach County Circuit Judge Krista Marx” (Kam Par. 6). However, the experienced journalist isn’t without candor and also quoted the attorney, Benjamin Crump, who was representing the parents of Trayvon Martin. Crump was fiercely against the law and thought it gave too much freedom to…
