How to get into college College, although it may seem distant and impossible, is looming closer to each student everyday. “In October 2015, 69.2% of 2015 high schoolers graduates were enrolled in colleges or universities” (bis.gov). Almost everyone understands the importance of receiving a degree or diploma in their planned area of expertise, but does everyone truly understand what it takes to get into college? Only through academic achievement, leadership skills, and various talents that show that you are above your peers can you expect to succeed. Even though everyone has a place in mind, whether it is an ivy league or field specific school, do they understand how to get there?

By understanding the three key points to getting into college, you will be able to act towards your goals that will ultimately bring you a few steps closer to your dream college. The first of these is understanding what makes you unique; you need to recognize what talents you possess and how you can expand on those to either help others or make yourself above your average peers. This first step may sound the most simple, but you need to specifically identify these skills early, so you can start working on improving them. For example, if you are a gifted athlete, you should strive to enhance those skills by trying out for teams and winning competitions, so you could ultimately win a scholarship to your dream college. The results will certainly be benefitting because as long as you put in enough effort, the same amount of results will come back to you. If students follow these guidelines and incorporate it into their daily goals and lifestyle, they will be able to see the benefits of knowing how to prepare for college. Only through this process can they truly understand how much more closer they are to accomplishing what they had only dreamed of.

Even if everyone understands the importance of extraordinary talents, academic accomplishment, and leadership skills, not everyone knows that you cannot simply just understand it. You must prepare to act and to compete with others who also share a common goal, who may also work just as hard or even harder that you. Never expect to be accepted if you do not put in as much effort or more effort than the people who are trying to work even harder than
