Giant galaxies aren’t built within a day. These mammoth objects are built somewhere in the time frame of 55 billion years to be created. The pinwheel galaxy’s technical name is Messier. This galaxy is a collection of stars, gas and dust held together by gravity. They also come in varieties of spirals, elliptical, and irregulars.
Spiral galaxies have well defined spiral arms that wind around the galaxy and have rotating disks of materials. They look like they are arms of pinwheels. This galaxy is more than 25 million light years from earth and is northern to the constellation Ursa major which is called the great bear.
