A few people in this world are blessed with amazing gifts and talents. Having these extraordinary talents makes others realize how special that person truly is because of how much talent they have and how well they execute that talent. For example, a professional athlete is a person who uses their gift as a talent. Lebron James is one of the most gifted and talented athletes on the planet because of his size, speed, and agility. He is known as the best basketball player in the world because he works harder and harder everyday to be the best he can be and overall is gifted at the sport of basketball. Others have a gift of telling whether a person is hurting not in the physical way but in an emotional way. They have the ability of making people feel better and really understanding the problems they might have going on in their life. Thats a very important gift to have. So is a gift a talent or a purpose? Having a talent means that you're using your gift to your own advantage. However, using a gift for a purpose can be beneficial to others. There is no actual time when one finds out if they have a talent or purpose. Throughout the years of a persons life, answering that question gets easier because one starts to get an idea of how they want to use their gift, if they want to use their gift to their own advantage or use their gift for a purpose by helping others. A good example of a person who uses their gifts for a purpose is usually a teacher. Teachers acquire many gifts, the gift of public speaking and the gift of knowledge. Both of these gifts are very important because for teachers to pass down the knowledge they know to students like me, they have to be good at speaking and know how to communicate with students. They are using their gifts for a purpose, to help students learn and become successful in life. It’s tough for me to say whether I have a talent or a purpose. If I

Malcom Gladwell, in the book The Ten Thousand Hour Rule, suggests that there basically is no God-given talent, but rather if you practice the skill that you want to perfect for ten thousand hours that you will successfully master that skill. He explains how no person is born with a natural talent, but if they are there’s very little of that talent. Gladwell’s theory does not reflect my understanding of scripture. My understanding of Paul’s teachings in the New Testament is that everyone is born with some kind of spiritual or physical talent. I do believe that a talent can be improved by working, but there must be some talent on which to build. Just like a house, you can’t just say “Build yourself”, there must be a foundation (ability/talent).…

A close second interest is in the artistic field. I feel that being creative is a great skill to have because it helps to discover new ideas and new methods of problem solving. I feel that being artistic doesn’t mean you have to know how to draw or paint. In my opinion, I think that art can be expressed though your own personal gifts, such as being a creative writer or being a motivational speaker. I feel that the drawing aspect of life is very important to me because as a child, no matter where I was, I could always pick up a pencil and a piece of paper and visit a different…

Maybe you do not have any talent that you are aware of, and you have always struggled to succeed in anything, but that does not mean you are not talented. That means that you are a fighter. Learning what elements motivate me helped me to identify my purpose. Most of us don’t get epiphanies. We only get a whisper— only with time and understanding of self did I recognize the whisper, and connect the whisper to an answer I call wisdom. Of course, there’s never a single right answer. At some point, it feels right enough that I chose, and devote my time and energy to making my choice fruitful.…

Some people have a great amount of natural talent, and it seems like they were just born to be amazing. In orchestra, some people are better than me at violin, even though I practice more. This is because they have so much natural talent that they can just pick it up and start playing. And there are child prodigies that play music or read and write at a very early age. So, does everyone have natural talent with something? Can everyone be great if they find their calling?…

Where does talent come from? Is it forged in the sweat and tears of hard work or in our natural born abilities? This has been debated for a very long time now and many authors have given their point of view on the situation. In The Sports Gene, a non-fiction text by David Epstein tells that talent comes from innate abilities and these abilities allow for little training to be needed to be successful. He talks about how our biological image can carry us to success. In Outliers: The Story of Success another non-fiction text by Malcolm Gladwell, he tells that talent comes from the number of hours practiced, specifically 10,000 hours, and gives very good evidence with experts and studies to support his claim. Both stories gave great evidence…

Realisation of one’s aptitude and talents enables one to better his career. Biblically speaking, every man is invested with talents and if one keeps them unused, then his talents will be taken away and be distributed to those who multiply them. Hence, the God given potentialities should be utilised to the core that not only benefits oneself but also the society.…
